What Makes Sense
The place where you and I once stood
Together when it all was good
Is buried from our trials and tribulations
Hanging by a dangerous thread
Every ounce has now been bled
From what was once hopeful situation
I hang my head and watch you fall
Your blank stare back has built a wall of separation
You always knew you had a choice
But you couldn’t find your voice
You decided on what’s now too tough to mention
I heard you cry and I heard you scream
I saw you sweat from your bad dreams
Never did I start and intervention
I could never figure out why
You always had to doubt all my intentions
You hear the thunder
You feel the rain
You see the hunger
You taste the pain
You smell the danger
But it’s all in vain
How can it ever make any sense again
Are you Adam or are you Eve
You went and let that fruit deceive
It took what could have been your soul salvation
You chose your path or it chose you
A path that led to black and blue
With no parole or pardon for your sentence
You used to have a righteous mind
You never wanted any kind of vengeance
You hear the thunder
You feel the rain
You see the hunger
You taste the pain
You smell the danger
But it’s all in vain
How can it ever make any sense again

Terms & Conditions
She had her reasons
For being deceiving
She didn’t know where they were going
A love that was blind
She played with his mind
He was better for not ever knowing
She carried it well
Wasn’t easy to tell
Deep down he was all that she’d need
She couldn’t convey
What she wanted to say
The truth she couldn’t concede
Sometimes love can’t fit like a glove
There is no concise definition
You take what you get
Or your mind will be set
On too many terms and conditions
He always believed
That he was what she’d need
Through the thick and the thin of it all
He would make it seem right
In the dark of the night
That’s when she would usually fall
He had a strong will
And the void he would fill
Hoping her trust he would earn
Giving his heart
So she’d not fall apart
Never asking a thing in return
Sometimes love can’t fit like a glove
There is no concise definition
You take what you get
Or your mind will be set
On too many terms and conditions
Even The Devil Cries
Today I saw the devil cry
I saw a tear fall from his eye
Somewhere out there lies the reasons why
Here I need to find the will to try
What’s right is wrong
These nights are long
Oh, please help me hang on
Who’s the one to say what’s fair
What you give and what you get is what you share
How can you explain the cold dark stare
Please explain that cold dark stare
What’s right is wrong
These nights are long
Oh, please help me hang on
Another day of hell has passed us by
Searching for the truth, no more lies
The pain that’s buried deep behind your eyes
It’s so sad that even the devil cries
So sad even the devil cries
What’s right is wrong
These nights are long
Oh, please help me hang on
Won’t you help me
Oh, please help me
I need you to help me hang on
Edge Of The World
A gentle breeze blowing
The sun sets to the sea
A calmness we feel as we set our minds free
All the worries we carry
No longer appear
Lost in the beauty of what is sincere
Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh
Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh
We’re not where we started
A long time ago
We set out on a journey for where we didn’t know
To a place that was different
From where we had been
Looking for what we felt
When lost in our dreams
Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh
Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh
It’s a long way
It’s a long way
It’s a long way
It’s a long way
It’s a long way to the edge of the world
It’s a long way to the edge of the world
It’s a long way to the edge of the world
But it’s worth the cost
Oh, it’s worth the cost
So follow me
Come follow me
Set your mind free and follow me
It’s a long way to the edge of the world
It’s a long way to the edge of the world
It’s a long way to the edge of the world
Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh
Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh
Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh

Take The Chance
The old man was sitting next to me
As we rolled down route 41
On a Greyhound that left the station
As we said goodbye to the sun
Time goes slow when you stare out the window
Watching the miles go by
Gazing out into the darkness
Searching for the reasons why
After about an hour or so
He said son, how long have you played
I asked him how he knew and with a sly old grin
He said you wear it on your face
He said I see you are fighting a battle
And you look like you’re running upstream
I said I’m tired of the road and the letdowns
And I guess I just lost the dream
He said take the chance that your given
You’ve got to take it nice and slow
You’ve got to make the most of your living
You’ve got to do it to keep control
You don’t get the chance many times in a lifetime
Believe me I know
If you don’t make the most of your situation
You’re gonna miss the show
He said I’ll tell you where I come from
It’s a place from long ago
It wasn’t a whole lot different how I learned to live on the road
I had my share of the ladies
And the places I played were fine
But I grew tired of the journey and it seemed the end of the line
So I paced it in and I ran away
Thinking I could go back home
As the years went by trying to find my way, all I could do was roam
You see, the only place that was meant for me was out there under the lights
I’m telling you now what I didn’t know then
Do what you know is right
You’ve got to take the chance that you’re given
You’ve got to take it nice and slow
You’ve got to make the most of your livin’
You’ve got to do it keep control
You don’t get the chance many times in a lifetime
Believe me I know
And if you don’t make the most of your situation
You’re gonna miss the show
As we kept on rolling through the night
I thought about the words he said
He seemed like a friendly but sad old soul
And he was troubled with the life he led
I said thanks old man for taking the time
To share how you let your life go
It’s a tough old world and it gets you down
But I see that you’re never too old
To take the chance that you’re given
You’ve got to take it nice and slow
Make the most of your livin’
You’ve got to do it to keep control
You don’t get the chance many times in a lifetime
Believe me I know
And if you don’t make the best of your situation
You’re gonna miss the show
Don’t miss the show
Don’t miss the show
Don’t miss the show
Don’t miss the show
Common Ground
You’ve got the style and you’ve got the look
You are the one who wrote the book
On how to get with what you’ve got
Always acting like you’re something you’re not
You’ve got the smile and you’ve got the tan
You’ve got the time and you’ve got the plan
If they could only see
How you calculate your moves so carefully
You think you are
A shooting star
You go too far
I hope you’ll come around
To meet on common ground eventually
You don’t believe in second best
You put yourself above the rest
It’s not about how others feel
When they’re put down and out by you it’s no big deal
You think because your wallet’s full
It lets you push and gives you pull
Showing off the things you own
Can you not see that what you’ve got is just on loan
You think you are
A shooting star
You go too far
And I hope you’ll come around
To meet on common ground eventually

Never Afraid
If you were never afraid
Would you keep the excuses that you've made
Or would you throw them far away,
And start a brand new day
Leaving all your worries behind
If you were never afraid
Would you play all those games you've never played
Would you say what you won't say,
To make it go your way
Maybe then you'd have a peace of mind
If you were never afraid
Then I know it would be better
Better doesn't come so easily
If you never were afraid
Then I know we'd be together
And that is what I wish for you and me
If you were never afraid
Would you make decisions that you never make
Would you take the chances that you never take
The ones that always seem to slip away
If you were never afraid
Then I know it would be better
Better doesn’t come so easily
If you were never afraid
Then I know we’d be together
And that is what I wish for you and me

I’ve Learned A Lot
When I think of those days
When I was trying to run away
Thinking with my heard and never with my head
The grass was always greener
I must have been a dreamer
Never listening to the words my friends said
I thought I had it figured
Didn’t know the plan was bigger
With a long and winding road that lay ahead
It takes doing it all wrong
To make the right things come along
Not as simple as the words in a book that could have been read
It takes learning it the hard way
Getting hurt and going sideways
To appreciate all that you’ve got
It’s what I’ve been taught
And I’ve learned a lot
I learned more from that path
How it taught me the math
How to calculate what I’m looking for
If it was handed on a platter
Then it just wouldn’t matter
And I’d always have the need to want more
I’ve got the bruises and the scars
From when I took it too far
Many times I was led out the door
When they let me back in
I was glad for where I’d been
And I knew I’d never be going back there anymore
It takes learning it the hard way
Getting hurt and going sideways
To appreciate all that you’ve got
It’s what I’ve been taught
And I’ve learned a lot
Yeah, it’s what I’ve been taught
And I’ve learned a lot
Radiate and Glow
The story's the same, we come and we go
Why does it change what we think
When we're honestly told
What we already know
We're born and we breath, we live and we die
Asking the questions but never receiving the answers
We need
To understand why
It's true
For me and you
It's true
It's true
Reasons unclear from the words that we hear
Living uncertain with all the of the questions
And worry
And doubt
And fear
Embracing the truth is hard to believe
When told of the way it will pass it is then that we know
How they will grieve
It's true
For me and you
It's true
It's true
If I was told - of the time I'd have
To radiate and glow
Then I'd know
How I'd spend my final days
Living out my dreams and circumstances
Before I go
It's true
For me and you
It's true
It's true
